All of our clients have one thing in common... a concern for the safety of their child. Here are a few of the questions we're asked most often, but feel free to contact us anytime with a safety question!

Why should i babyproof my home?
Although your home should be a safe place for your baby, it can be very dangerous. Children, especially under age four, are at risk for many injuries including falls, poisonings, choking, drowning, and burns. Each year, approximately two million children ages four and under visit hospital emergency rooms for injuries that occurred in the home (Safe Kids Worldwide). Your home is where your child will spend most of their time playing and exploring. It is important to make sure their environment is safe. "No" loses its effectiveness if you say it fifty times a day!

When should i start babyproofing?
The best time to start babyproofing your home is before your baby starts crawling and discovering all the dangers in your home. However, if your baby is already crawling, it is not too late. Babyproof now to help your baby explore safely. Some families even babyproof the grandparents' homes.

I always watch my baby. Do i need to babyproof?
Yes! Supervision is always the most important part of your injury prevention plan. However, children are quick and injuries can happen in just a few seconds. It can be difficult to always anticipate the curiosity of your baby. Babyproofing is an important way to help keep your baby safe at home. While safety products don't replace supervision, they can assist you The Play Den model provides an enclosed, free standing, functional and versatile play area.with keeping your curious child safe. It is hard to catch a baby that crawls quickly to the top of the stairs or opens the cabinet under the sink and finds the lemon-scented cleaner when you might be distracted for a few seconds. Since no home is 100% safe and there are not safety products to help with every hazard, supervision is still very important.

Do you provide installation services?
Yes. Our staff will install the products safely and show you how to use everything! Sometimes parents just call us for gate or cabinet latch installations, so we are flexible with our installation services. Gates and gate instructions can be very confusing so they are often the most challenging safety product to install.

I have some safety products. Will you install them for me?
It depends on the product. Some safety products are of much higher quality than others. We only install products that we normally sell and that meet our standards for quality and safety.

My husband is handy. Can i buy your safety products so we can install them?
Yes! You will need power tools, including a drill. Our Home Evaluation Worksheet allows you to pick and choose what you need us to install. We can provide you with installation tips, if you install the products yourself. You may want us to install the gates and cabinet latches because those are the products we often see installed incorrectly. Proper installation is important to insure that products will work correctly and safely.

How much does it cost to babyproof a home?
The cost of babyproofing is different for every home because every home is different. The cost generally depends on how many gates and cabinet latches you will need and where you spend your time in your home with your baby. Most parents don't babyproof every room of the house, but will deny access to the more dangerous areas. We will work within your budget to help you choose the best way to make your home safer. Many parents also choose to babyproof in stages.

Can i find the same babyproofing products at my local store?

We A Sliding Outlet Cover helps protect children from dangerous exposed outlets.carry products from numerous manufacturers which allows us to select quality products that will work in your home!

My parents never babyproofed and i never had any er visits. Why should i babyproof my home?

How long do I need to keep my home babyproofed?
Home safety is an ongoing process! As your child grows, you will need to re-evaluate your home and the safety products that you have. We recommend that you regularly check all your safety products. You will need to continually re-assess your home for new dangers. Also, it is important for you to teach your children about safety. Example: Don't touch the stove or climb on the dresser!
